Elisa Bogalheiro (1978, Covilhã – Portugal) is a producer, director, and creative project manager with an international career spanning Portugal, Berlin, Panama, and Barcelona. After moving to Berlin in 2002 to complete her studies in German Philology, she discovered her passion for storytelling, leading her to work as a journalist and producer for Latin American audiovisual media. Later, she moved to Panama, working in TV entertainment for two years, before returning to Portugal in 2012, where she focused on executive production and audiovisual project development. She debuted as a director in 2020 with the documentary Os grandes criadores, having previously produced a variety of audiovisual works. Her executive productions include short films like Holypopcorn (2013), Jigging (2014), O Efeito Isaías (2015), Quiet (2022), and feature films such as O Canto do Galo (2017). Additionally, she served as head of production for Carga (2018) and El Rey Peret (2023) and was the delegate producer for Waiting for Dalí (2021) in collaboration with Arlong Productions. Her first international co-production as an executive producer, À procura da Estrela, premiered at the Porto Post Doc Film Festival and the Gijón International Film Festival. Currently, she is directing a documentary on women’s soccer and works as an executive producer on various international co-productions in development, including Los Débiles, Kokoro, As Bruxas, and Maria, a rainha louca, strengthening her commitment to authentic storytelling and consolidating her career in the audiovisual landscape.
